A Case Study for 4th Avenue North Ocean Outfall Permitting and Gross Pollutants Device Selection in Myrtle Beach, SC

Myrtle Beach has become one of the top beach vacation destinations in the US. This presentation describes storm drainage improvements in the 4th Avenue North Drainage Basin, which consists of 90 acres of urban development along the ocean. The project involves removal of nine beach surface outfalls, which will be combined into a single deepwater outfall. Trash separation and capture devices will also be installed. The presentation discusses both regulatory and structural challenges.
