City of Lancaster, PA, Green Infrastructure Plan

G12 Tuesday, August 20, 8:30 – 9:00AM / Grand Ballroom D

The city of Lancaster has a combined sewer system and experiences about one billion gallons of combined sewer overflows annually. Instead of installing $300 million in grey infrastructure to deal with the CSOs, the city is using green infrastructure technologies at less than half the cost. So far the city has removed more than 9 million gallons of runoff from the sewer collection system and is accelerating the installation of green infrastructure.
